Our 4th Wedding Anniversary!!

Four years ago today Eric and I walked down the isle of First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge and then celebrated our union downtown at The Camelot Club. It was an amazing day! Eric and I can remember floating on rafts in the pool on our honeymoon discussing where in the world God was going to place us and what our lives would be like. Eric had sent out resumes all over the U.S. and we were so delighted that just a few months after we returned home from our honeymoon Thomson Memorial Presbyterian Church in Mississippi contacted him. It is all history from that point on!

Six months later we moved to Centreville, Mississippi

Two years and one month later the Lord blessed us with Grayson
17 months after Grayson was born the Lord surprised us with Mary Gibson
These are the beautiful flowers Eric sent me today! They are so happy looking and have helped to make the day very special.
We have had a wonderful 5 1/2years together (4 married, 1 1/2 dating/engaged) filled with many adventures and a few surprises :) We look forward to what the Lord has in store for our future!

Happy 6 month BIrthday Mary Gibson!!!

Our sweet baby girl is six months old today! It is hard to believe a half a year has gone by already since she was born. This picture was taken yesterday. We had our Missions Conference this weekend at church, so my mom came to help me with the children while I played hostess and attended the meetings. It was so nice to have her here! She brought Grayson and Mary Gibson each a treat and we were able to capture Mary Gibson opening hers and loving it!! Her 6 month Birthday also marks the day that we saw her first tooth coming in! She has been drooling and chewing on everything for months. I felt something sharp as she was chewing on my finger tonight and looked and saw the top of one of her bottom teeth peeking through her gum.

Spring is coming!

Here's our happy girl just waking up from a nap. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and have lots of conversations. She is a VERY verbal (and loud) little girl ! We will put Mary Gibson down on the living room floor to play and when we come back into the room she will have moved from one side of the room to the other! It is amazing how fast she can get around by just being able to roll.

We have decided to plant a vegetable/herb garden this Spring. Grayson & daddy worked very hard tilling and planting seeds this past weekend. Grayson is so funny. He got this push toy that we had bought for him when he was learning to walk and insisted on bringing it outside. I couldn't figure out what he wanted to do with it at first. I then realized when he took it over to the garden that he was using it as his tiller just like daddy had done the day before. Of course, Grayson thought his tiller could do the same job.

Grayson is enjoying watering the garden daily but we are having a little difficulty trying to make him understand that he is not supposed to dig up the seeds and replant them everyday!
I was tending to Mary Gibson and I think in an effort to get my attention, Grayson decided to take a handful of mud and put it all in his mouth. He was delighted that it worked!!!

Poochie (Great-Grandma Ferrell) came up for a visit and enjoyed time with the kids. Mary Gibson cannot take her eyes off of Grayson. She thinks he is the funniest thing in the world. It is so neat to see how children (especially babies) are so drawn to other children.

This was Mary Gibson's first time in the rock box. Grayson is giving her lessons in the proper rock box etiquette :-)
Here Grayson and Daddy are going out for another fishing adventure. Of course, Teddy had to go on the fishing trip also. Poor Teddy had an unfortunate experience as he fell into the pond! Eric says that he doesn't think it was an accident. He thinks Grayson wanted to see Teddy fall off the warf and go for a swim in the pond. Gotta love little boys!!!!

January 2009

For all our viewers, sorry we have not posted in a long while. The addition of our beloved Mary Gibson has helped consume more of our blogging time over the past 4 months. Hope this post will suffice for now. Mary Gibson is 4 months old now and is at such a cute age. She is extremely verbal and loves to laugh! She thinks Grayson is very funny and Grayson loves to entertain and show her how everything works :-)

Eric and Grayson got to go fishing the other afternoon and caught lots of fish. They cleaned them up just in time for dinner!

Grayson loves to watch Mr. Lew mow our grass!

Mary Gibson woke up way too early and found her way in our bed so that we could all get a few more hours of sleep!

This was Mary Gibson's first time in the exersaucer and Grayson was supervising to make sure she was doing correctly.

Mary Gibson was joyfully anticipating her bath. She loves to splash all of the water out of the bath tub and get everything and everyone soaked!

We took Mary Gibson for her 4 month check up last week and she got a clean bill of health! She is in the 5oth percentile for weight and the 75th for height.

Uncle Austin came to visit a few Wednesday nights ago. He enjoyed time with the kids and got to go to Eric's Wednesday night bible study at church.

Mee maw and Paw Paw came for a visit a few weeks ago. We celebrated a late Christmas with them and they babysat one night while Eric and I went out to celebrate my birthday! It was a wonderful time.

Paw Paw took Grayson to get Chocolate milk at the
store on Saturday morning. Needless to say we
didn't hear a peep from Grayson for a good 5
minutes while he downed the entire bottle!

Mississippi Deer

When Grayson goes on his first deer hunt we don't want him to have low standards of what to expect. :-) Hopefully this will not warp his sense of reality, when he comes to realize that such deer like this come about once every other lifetime.

Actually this whitetail deer was killed yesterday by a 13 year old girl, from distance of 180 yards, at a friend's ranch just outside of town.

Christmas 2008

We had a very Merry Christmas this year with Grayson(19 months) and Mary Gibson(3 months). What a joy it was to wake up on Christmas morning and get our smiling son and daughter out of their cribs to open gifts! We then went to Baton Rouge to celebrate with the Ferrells. We had a wonderful day from start to finish!
We are so thankful for the blessed year we've had with the birth of a healthy daughter, a loving family, and a wonderful church family who truely cares for us. We look forward to 2009 as we count our many blessings and are thankful to our Lord for where He has placed us.
