On Monday night about 9:00 Katy started having contraction pains, yet we thought they were painful "Braxton Hicks" contractions. (i.e. false labor) But at 12:30 that night we suddenly knew they were for real. We quickly packed bags, loaded up the car, and brought Grayson with us. The full-moon night is not only known to bring mothers into labor, but it also enables deer to feed during the night. So after dodging two deer on the country road, with hazard lights flashing, we dropped off Grayson at his grandmother's house and arrived at the hospital at 2:30. We soon realized that it would not be much longer, for the baby was quickly coming into position. At 4:45 Katy began pushing. She pushed twice. And Mary Gibson came at 4:53 a.m.

She is beautiful!!! So is mama! I've been resisting the urge to call and check up on ya'll -- but have been praying for you every time I think of you -- especially for rest and nursing concerning mama and baby. If Katie feels like chatting for a moment, have her give me a call. We love your beautiful, dear family! Deb
Congratulations!! She is sooo beautiful! Ya'll make the cutest. They look sooo much alike (first week). We can't wait to her! Big brother Grayson will love and protect her. Too cute!
There are some definite differences between the hospital pics of Grasyon and those of Mary Gibson...Grayson is screaming and hollering in every one of his first few pictures, while Mary Gibson seems delightfully calm. I hope that is a sign of things to come :)
